The interior is a bit of a mixture. The headliner was replaced as was the pop top canvas. The interior panels and walls have been carpeted with a grey car carpet material. The cargo area floor is a covered in a hard wearing retro cow print vinyl over a sheet of thin plywood. The floor was painted before all this was put down. The van also features some of the rarer pieces of trim like the edging on the panels behind the cab seats.
The interior is kind of a modern/retro mix. It is practical and should prove to be hard wearing.

The cab
The cab interior is pretty standard. The dash is an early dash and has been sand blasted and powder coated black. The clocks were stripped and rebuilt. The switch gear was stripped out and where necessary replaced with either new or 2nd hand good switch gear.
The pedal assemblies have been refurbished with new rubbers and seals. The accelerator assembly originally was a home made aberration so it was ripped out and the correct 1975 pedal assembly installed. Mostly with new parts.
The original cab floor was solid enough but thin in places. The floor also had chunks cut out of it where a previous owner had showed his creativity with fore mentioned accelerator. For these reasons the cab floor was removed and replaced with a hand crafted panel from Schofields.
The windscreen washer bottle has been modified to use a modern electric pump. It is operated by a push button on the dash.
The van didn't have any sunvisors when I got it so I bought a new set from Just Kampers and they look great against the new headliner.
I also purchased new rubber mats which fit under the cab seats and wrap around the back of the panels behind the cab seats. These look great and match the new black cab carpet well.
The seats in the van were horrible. They weren't original and didn't fit well so I managed to get hold of a pair of Volvo seats with a low squad height and had them recovered in Blue. They look great. The covers are removable as well.
The seat belts are new as well.

Sound Insulation
The van has been treated to some sound insulation as well. It has a layer of vibration damping insulation then a layer of insulation designed to capture airborne noises. The insulation has been applied to the doors including the sliding door and rear door. The vibration damper has also been applied above the engine bay, front wheel arches, cab floor and on the firewall.
This little lot should quiet things down a bit as well as help retain a little heat in the van.

The cab seats are Volvo and have been professionally recovered. They are fully adjustable and the covers can be removed for cleaning.
More pictures are available on the Pictures page and include greater detail of things like the rubber mats and the fabric of the seats.
Camping interior
The van is very basic with regards to the camping facilities. It has a rock and roll bed and 2 buddy seats. The buddy seats are out of another van and have been recovered and restored. The van also has a table which I made with a sheet of perspex on top. The idea is that you can stick a map under the perspex and still rest a cup of tea on top whilst planning the route to your next camp site.
The pop top roof has a ledge along both sides which is designed to take some boards to make up a double bed in the roof. I haven't made up the bed boards so it is something the new owner will have to do.
I have spent many years living with a camper van and for me a removable single burner gas stove, a water carrier, a bowl, and a removable electric cool box work best. The reason being is that their is more space in the awning so that is where the cooking and cleaning ends up happening. If I do want a cuppa whilst I am out then I can take out the cooker and boil the kettle.
The sink in my camper rarely gets used because it is small and the van is too cramped to do the washing up. Most campsites have washing up facilities and whilst wild camping I end up using a bowl outside as their is more space.
I will include a cooker, electric cool box and a wash up bowl with the sale. I will also include a used Khyam Motordome awning with the sale.
